Everton going to sign Philippe Coutinho

Everton are reportedly interested in signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona this summer.

The Brazilian, who returned to the Catalan club last summer after his loan at Bayern Munich, hasn't played for them since December because of injury.

Before that, the midfielder had featured regularly, with Ronald Koeman keen to make the most of his pedigree at this level.

However, the performances of Barcelona in Coutinho's absence suggest that they could be prepared to move him on this summer.

As a result, there is interest from Goodison Park. According to Tz, Everton are willing to make an offer of 40 million euros to sign him.

What's more, the financial pressure on Barcelona at the moment could force their hand into a sale, so it's not a foregone conclusion.

Everton have done plenty of business with the Blaugrana in recent years, signing the likes of Andre Gomes, Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina.

Joining Carlo Ancelotti's side would, of course, have its problems for Coutinho, who spent several years playing for rivals Liverpool.
